It has been a while since I have had time to post. Things have been quite busy here and the day seems to run out of hours. What an amazing couple of months for Olive. She has matured so much and her happy, friendly personality is just getting better and better.
Growing
Dairy has been good for Olive and she has grown. I am not quite sure of her height, but she can now reach up to things like tables and door knobs that she could not before. She has gained about 1 1/2 lbs in the last 2 months and her appetite and eating are much better. She still loves broccoli and green beans are another favorite. She also likes pasta, mandarin oranges, bananas, and some beans. Meat in general is a little hard to get in her and she will only eat cheese in limited quantities. She has not learned where the crackers are kept and will often go into the kitchen and point when she wants a snack.
Olive is really working on her climbing skills and can now easily get up onto the couch and coffee table. Since she will attempt do do both when we are out of the room, I have also made sure she can get down by herself. We are discouraging her from getting on the coffee table, and some days the only way it is possible is to load it up with toys. Although yesterday, she just threw off all the toys then tried to climb up.
She loves to run and be chased and has the cutest little wild run where arms and legs are all over the place. She also is getting pretty good at throwing a ball and can catch it every now and again. I am working on getting her a tricycle. Now she enjoys pushing them but I know she will love riding later on.
She is getting more interested in using spoons and forks by herself. Often we can help her get food on it and she will get it to her mouth. We are down to 2-3 bottles a day. She is still holding strong to her morning and night bottle but the afternoon bottle is on its way out.
Big Changes
Last week Olive started daycare two days a week. It was a tough week. She loves the play time, the other kids and even the food. I was afraid she would not eat well. But she has not learned to sleep there yet and each day when I have picked her up she has been super tired and cranky. Today was the 4th visit and she has learned that I am leaving. She started crying when I left but had stopped by the time I got to the end of the hall. The day care has a video camera that I can use to watch her during the day. I probably look at it a little to much, but it is fun to see her playing and dancing during music time. Yesterday, she also attended a morning out program that she will go to every Wed. She loved it and they loved her. Probably b/c they didnt have to put her to sleep. The teacher said she was just so happy and friendly all day.
Talking
Olive is still sticking to her basic words (Mama, Dadee, milk, ba-ba) but she knows what lots of words mean and will sometimes follow simple commands like open the door, close the door, get the ball, hug your doll, etc. I feel it is just a matter of time before she starts saying more stuff. When she does, I will kind of miss her babbling.
Teeth
Olive how has 13 teeth. She has 4 molars and 1 new incisor. She is back to drooling constantly and I think it is from cutting 5 teeth at once. You think!

Paige, thanks for this preview of what my daughter's days may look like a year from now. (She's about four months old now.) It sounds like Olive is one sweet, playful and happy child. That's great! :)
