20 Months

It has been pretty hard to get photos and videos of O these last months. It seems that the minute the cameras come out, she wants to hold them. Add that with busy jobs and you get very slow posting.

It seems crazy to me that her 2nd year is almost complete. It seems like yesterday that we were planning her first birthday party. But then I think of all the ways she has grown and has developed into a toddler, not the baby she was at 1.

Olive still doesn't say many words, but she is super verbal these days. For reference sake here is a list of spoken words: ball, more, mama, dada, bye, hi, high-chair (hi-cha), apple, and eyes and signed words: eat, more, juice, banana, milk, cracker, and all-done. All other times she is constant cute babble. She loves to give hugs and kisses (both on the cheek and blowing kisses).

Her social skills are still very strong. She is constantly waving and smiling at people and she is drawn to older kids. She loves to go out to the store and I always hear people commenting on her smile.

At home she is getting into books more and seems to recognize elements of the story. One of her favorites these days is Where the Wild Things Are. She still likes to love on her dolls but her favorite thing is to play chase in the house. To instigate a game of chase, she will "steal" one of our house slippers and run a few steps away just daring you to come and claim it. She also still loves music, and now that she is a little older, I have gotten the piano back out and she likes to "play it" with fingers or with toys.
