Here we are, the end of the 1st trimester. I am very happy that all has gone well so far and we are ready for the next stage. It was so fun telling all our friends last week and weekend. It makes me so happy that everyone is so excited for us. There are still a few people that I want to call and tell them in person and most of church to tell. I think church friends will notice next week because I am growing out of clothes and really starting to show.
The baby is about three inches so far and most of the critical development is done. Over the next month it will really grow, 5 inches by Christmas. They say that some people might feel the baby move this month, but most dont feel it until 5 months (that's after the new year for me).
I am feeling ok. I am eating normally, but my thyroid levels are off. I had blood drawn last Thursday and yesterday my endocrinologist had to adjust my thyroid medication up a little and give me a potassium supplement. Thyroid needs increase during pregnancy so I was expecting this. The potassium may have to do with some swelling that I have been having in my hands and face and some headaches that I get from that pressure. Potassium and salt work together to regular the fluids in the body so it is important to make sure these levels are good.
I am having crazy pregnant-lady dreams. I wake up often because I am not used to sleeping on my side and the dreams I am having are so vivid. I cant imagine where some of these dreams come from.
We will decorate our Christmas tree this week, and I reminded Brian that next year we will get to use all three of our stocking holders that spell out “JOY.” For the past several years we have just used “OY.”
